Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber can offer a Pure Oxygen Treatment to people, called Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment in which the patient is entirely enclosed in a pressure chamber, breathing pure oxygen (O2) at greater than one-atmosphere pressure. In our atmosphere, the pressure is 1ATA, so Air contains nearly 21% oxygen and approximately 78% nitrogen. Under normal circumstances, oxygen is transported throughout the body only by red blood cells.

With HBOT, oxygen is dissolved into all of the blood and in the cerebral spinal fluids of body, the plasma, the central nervous system fluids, the lymph, and the bone and can be carried to areas where circulation is diminished or blocked. In this way, extra oxygen can reach all of the damaged tissues and the body can support its own healing process. The increased oxygen greatly enhances the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria, reduces swelling and allows new blood vessels to grow more rapidly into the affected areas. It is a simple, non-invasive and painless treatment,.

Sports with HBOT

Injuries caused by sports related activities are a substantial concern among players, coaches and parents alike. As inflammation and pain play primary roles with respect to recovery, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has been shown to significantly reduce inflammation and ameliorate pain.

How do HBOT helps athletes recovery from injuries?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy allows a massive increase in the amount of oxygen carried in a tissue, which under normal conditions leads to increased density of capillaries (the so-called process of angioneogenesis). A dense network of capillaries allows a supercharged oxygenation of the locomotor system, resulting in performance and increased endurance. In the case of trauma and fractures, one of the most basic ingredients needed to repair tissue is oxygen that has a major importance in the post traumatic recovery. Studies abroad show that fractures treated with HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) can recover five times faster. For ligament ruptures, hyperbaric oxygen can also lead to shorten the recovery time (eg. in case of a cruciate ligament recovery is can be reduced from 6 months to 3 months)

What Can I Expect?

Going for a hyperbaric “dive” is a comfortable experience. You should be able to relax, watch TV, or even take a nap. Each session can last up to an hour or more, with ongoing sessions continuing for five or six days a week, for up to four to six weeks. A full treatment can typically total 20-40 sessions, depending on your goals. (You are really committing to this!). The good news is the effects of this treatment last 8 to 10 months. Insurance will typically cover conditions or diseases for which this therapy has been approved.
